Mark Michaeli

Mark Michaeli is Professor for Sustainable Urbanism at the School of Engineering and Design at TUM, Technical University of Munich. Since graduating from ETH Zurich with a degree in Architecture, he has focused on research and teaching on sustainable urbanisation and transformation strategies, as well as on designs for metropolitan peripheries, periurban zones, and rural areas. He has contributed to and been involved with the foundation of numerous research networks and programmes, including SEC Future Cities Lab Singapore, EIT Climate-KIC, horizon2020 and the DFG-sponsored Urban Green Infrastructure Doctoral programme, as well as the Urban Age and Open City research projects. Until 2026 he served as Vice-Dean for Academic and Student Affairs for the TUM-School of Engineering and Design.
