Michal Kohout

Conference Chair. Architect, educator, and theorist. He is a professor and head of the Department of Building Theory at the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU), where he also leads a studio focused on architectural design. He is the author and co-author of dozens of projects, many of which have been realized and some of which have received numerous Czech national and international awards and have been exhibited in showcases of Czech and international architecture. He is a certified member of the Czech Chamber of Architects and co-founder of the architectural studio UNIT architekti, the Center for Housing Quality Research, and the publishing house Zlatý řez. As an author and editor, he has published a number of books and articles on modern Czech architecture, as well as works on housing and the theory of the built environment. He leads several research projects and is an expert in both public and professional housing policy.
